You know that I have developed a passion for the combination of rough and delicate materials. One night a few weeks ago, just before I fell asleep, I came up with the idea for a collage using a rusty grid and lace leftovers. Luckily, I remembered it the next morning :). I wish I wouldn’t always be too tired to take notes, when I get an idea at night. Who knows what ingenious concepts I’ve already missed, lol. Do you virtually create at night too?
Some pieces of lace and fabric were sewn to the grid, others were woven in. After I had embellished the grid, I attached it to an 8” x 8” painted and distressed wood block .
I found a rubber stamp in my stamp stash that has the same size grid like the real one. Amazing. I used it to carry on the grid pattern on the upper left and lower right side.
The result of my nightly idea will join these great parties:
